Meet a Member – Allison DeCapite

Welcome to our new blog feature, “Meet a Member!” Impact100 Oakland County is comprised of smart, driven women with big hearts. We look forward to introducing you to our membership in this new way. (P.S. We’d love to feature YOU! Click here to start the conversation!)

Meet Allison DeCapite!

How long have you been a member? Five years.

What inspired you to join the organization? I attended the annual meeting by a friend’s invitation and saw first hand all of the good work that Impact100 was doing.

How has your membership impacted your life? I love being a part of something bigger and charitable. I have learned a lot about the grant review process and my eyes have been opened to the great need within our county.

What is your favorite Impact100 memory? Usually the fun reveals where we learn how much we can give in grant money each year!

What would you tell someone who is considering joining Impact100 Oakland County? To join and to get involved! Be a part of something bigger than yourself.

Tell us a little bit more about YOU! I have a background in elementary education and in medicine as a pediatric physician assistant. I’ve been staying at home to raise my four daughters who are 18, 16, 14, & 12 years old. I volunteer in many different organizations, including my kids’ school, my church, Beaumont hospital, Miami University (my alma mater), and Impact100. I’ve recently gone back to work part time as a substitute teacher and in school clinics. My husband owns a small IT consulting company that keeps him very busy (and I love having “in house” IT assistance!) I have a passion for reading and traveling! As for the future‚ I’m always wondering what I’ll do next in life.

Thank you for sharing your story with us Allison, and for your many contributions to our organization!
