Meet Michelle Strohkirch!
How long have you been a member? 2 years
What inspired you to join the organization? I was inspired by the idea of making a impactful collective contribution in my community with women who are like minded in wanting to help make a difference.
How has your membership impacted your life? I have learned about and been able to connect with so many non profits that are doing great things in Oakland County.
What is your favorite Impact100 memory? One thing that has always stuck with me is an update email from Common Ground, a nationally recognized crisis service agency. With their grant funds, Common Ground was locally able to expand their text and chat functions within their 24/7 crisis helpline. What struck me was the ripple effect of the grant. Common Ground was then chosen because of their experience to operate the Michigan Crisis and Access Line, serving people across the state of Michigan in need of someone to talk to.
What can you tell someone who is thinking about joining Impact100 Oakland
County? If it works with your schedule, join a grant review committee over the summer. It is the best way to learn about a lot of nonprofits in the area and you get an in-depth view of what it is that we do at Impact100 Oakland County.
Tell us a little bit about YOU! I moved back to Michigan with my husband and 2 kids in 2019. We love all things SUMMER but also enjoy being able to ski regularly again!
Thank you for sharing your story with us Michelle, and for your many contributions
to our organization!
